The Texas Young Lawyers Association ("TYLA") and TexasBarCLE are excited to announce their newest collaboration: Ten Minute Mentor.
Ten Minute Mentor (www.tenminutementor.com) a robust on-line library of video, audio, and document downloads intended to help all lawyers become better lawyers. Whether a lawyer wants to learn more about a particular area of substantive law, improve critical practice skills, acquire law office management pointers, or hone personal and professional development skills, all of these topics are covered in easy-to-digest web based video or audio segments of ten minutes or less, which are accessible at any time free of charge.
Topics may range from practical tips for lawyers ("Taking Your First Deposition"), substantive tips ("Negotiating Pre-Marital Agreements"), office management tips ("Conflicts Checks"), personal tips ("What to Do When Transitioning Your Career"), and professional development ("Attracting and Retaining Clients").
These subjects are merely a sampling of some of the creative ideas already on-line at the Ten Minute Mentor website, www.tenminutementor.com. When a leader in the profession or community is asked to participate, each speaker develops a topic uniquely tailored to his or her own expertise.
Ten Minute Mentor launched on March 1, 2005 with over 100 video segments (which can also be heard in audio-only format), and the website's library will continue to grow in the future. Because leaders in both the legal profession and the community are volunteering to serve as “Ten Minute Mentors,” Ten Minute Mentor will be the most comprehensive initiative in years to grow and develop young lawyers in their profession. Log on to see what Ten Minute Mentor has to offer today at www.tenminutementor.com or by going to either the TYLA website (www.tyla.org) or the TexasBar CLE website (www.texasbarcle.com).
