When sending an email, put the content of the message into an attachment and assign a password to the attachment. Do it for a word processing document or a PDF file.
Passwords can be assigned separately to open the document and to modify the document. Be sure to send a document to yourself first to test the passwords. Opening the file will require a password. Call the recipient and tell the recipient (live person, not by voicemail message) what the password is. At the beginning of the matter, you can inform the client of this email protocol.
